Kilcoyne Park was the venue for this third round fixture. A strong breeze blew into the mountain end and we played against it in the first half. It did not appear to affect us as we took control from the first minute with a point in the opening seconds from Niall Judge and this was quickly followed by a Kevin Langan point. We extended this lead further when Niall Judge finished to the top corner of the net. Curry responded with a point and then a goal and by the 13th minute we lead 1-5 v 1-2.

We added three more points from Kevin Langan and McDonnell. We had also lost Ronan Keane to a leg injury which saw Brendan Howley return to action after a long injury layoff. In the final 5 minutes of the half there was 3 goals, 2 for ourselves from Kevin Langan and Niall Judge to lead at halftime 3-10 v 2-4

The second half was a case of maintaining our lead and tacking on a few more scores. We scored a number of long range scores but also hit a good number of bad wides in the half. The defence improved in the second half but Anthony Kilcullen still was called on to push a pile driver onto the post. By the end of the game we had kept Curry scoreless in the second half and extended our lead to an easy winning margin of 3-19 v 2-4.

Next Saturday the team travel to Enniscrone where we take on west Sligo rivals Easkey at 6pm.
