The second round of the intermediate championship was a local derby as our Castleconnor took on Enniscrone as part of a double header in Easkey on Sunday afternoon.
The team got off to the perfect start scoring a goal in the opening minutes. Kevin Langan was awarded a penalty after been pulled down in the square from a surging run. Eamonn Cawley dispatched the resulting spot kick. Stephen Curley and Langan chipped in with points before Kevin McDonnell scored a 45. Further points from Keith Earlis, Eamonn Cawley and Alan Naughton left the half time score at 1-6 to 0-2. Just before half time Matthew Cullen left the field with an injury and Stephen Kilgannon was introduced.

The second half had another great start with points from Eamonn Cawley, Stephen Curly, Kevin Langan and Kevin McDonnell. There was great defensive work from Patrick McGuiness and Michael Langan.
