The game played in Markievicz last Sunday in perfect conditions saw us go down to the same opposition as last year. We got off to a poor start and after 10 minutes were down by 2 points. However we showed good composure and points from Niall Judge, Eamon Cawley and Kevin Langan had us up by 2 points after 20 minutes. A mistake by Anthony Kilcullen let in Drumcliffe for a goal and in the final four minutes before the break they added 4 more points to lead 1-7 v 0-5.

Drumcliffe got the first point of the half but we then hit a purple patch and scored a number of points to narrow the gap to two points and looking like we were back in the game. A mishit shot for a point which was going across the goal was finished to the roof of the net by an insliding forward. With the goal the fight went out of our play. In the last minutes Drumcliffe were awarded a penalty that they converted though most observers thought it was a free out. Paul Kilcullen scored a scrappy goal at the end but the game was over at this stage.
