The jackpot up for grabs this week is the big amount of €12000, with the numbers being pulled on Saturday February 19th in Muddys. You can’t win the money without buying a ticket so you know what to do!

The senior club team had there first outing of the year when they had visitors Drumcliffe/Rosses Point to Corballa. The pitch was in fairly good condition considering the time of year and the amount of rainfall during the week. This was the first round of the Benson cup. The opening exchanges were fairly even and we scored from play from Brian Lynn. Paul Kilcullen also score in the first half but we trailed at half time 0-5 v 0-3. No more than the Irish rugby team both teams were responsible for handling errors at vital times but that was to be expected at the first game of the year. Drumcliffe got off to a great start in the second half when a shot for goal was blocked and deflected past our keeper. We ourselves had a number of goal chances with Paul Sweeney rattling the crossbar midway through the half. A number of lads made their senior club debuts, Darragh Gilmartin, Diarmuid Howley and Shane Feeney. Kevin Langan and Paul Kilcullen put over a number of points to leave us losing on a scoreline of 1-9 v 0-7. Team: C.Gordon, B.Howley, D. Fox, R.Keane, D.Howley, M.Langan, D.Carrabine, P.Kilcullen, Brian Howley, B.Lynn, K.Langan, P.Sweeney, B.Judge, B.Curley, F.Barrett. Subs: M.Foody, A.Naughton, S.Feeney, D. Gilmartin, M.Fitzsimons. There will be training this Tuesday and Thursday for both the senior and junior panels. It is time for all senior players to pay their membership remittance to Treasurer Anthony Reape.

The club is looking for people to volunteer to help out and coach our clubs U10, 12 and 14 hurling teams. The current recession has depleted our group of coaches so if you are interested please contact Bart Barrins 0868421733
