Social night for our underage heros

The club held its’ prize giving night for our under 12 winning teams of 2010 in Mahoneys on Sunday evening. It was a very well attended and enjoyable for players and parents and thanks to all for attending. Chairman Darren Ruane got the proceedings started and thanked the very dedicated bunch of players who showed that hard work is rewarded on the field. David Mahoney presented the football medals to the members of that panel and Bart Barrins presented the hurlers with their medals. After the presentations the players were given a celebratory meal from Muddy Burns and the parents and supporters had finger food. A lovely evening was had by all and all are ready to get started in the next few weeks for 2011.

Bord na nÓg

Michael Langan presided over this meeting last Wednesday evening in the community centre. A good attendance helped the meeting complete the management teams for the various underage teams for the coming year. Showing the popularity of the clubs games we had for the first time to select management for the U6 grade. Complete list of management teams will be available next week.

Hurling

The club is looking for people to volunteer to help out and coach our clubs U10, 12 and 14 hurling teams. The current recession has depleted our group of coaches so if you are interested please contact Bart Barrins 0868421733

Tom Foody continues to coach the underage stars of the club every Friday evening in the community centre. Why not give it a go. There is both 40x 20 and one wall available. Contact Tom for further details.

The next number of weeks the adult members of the club will be taking part in the Co.Sligo trials, starting on Monday evening. Check the sligogaa.ie website for a list of games and your support would be greatly appreciated. Best of luck to all competitors.
