The under 16 team got their championship campaign off to a great start with a comprehensive victory over Geevagh last evening at St. Brendan's GAA Park in Corballa.

In dull and breezy conditions, Geevagh who played with the elements in the first half started the brighter scoring 1-2after 6 minutes. We got on the score sheet on 11 minutes with a good goal from Ronan Coggins  followed by the same from Matthew Cullen and a great score from Jason Earlis on his left foot. The teams traded scores and we led at the interval 4-1 to 2-2 with the other two goals coming from the boot of Sean Carrabine.

Indeed it wasnt just the men who were scoring that were on form, our rearguard  were superb throughout and this was evident on the first half when we kept the opposition limited with the breeze.

The team kicked on in the second half with other scores from Lewis Beardshaw and goals from subs Oisin Durkan and Dominic Murphy.

Next up is a tough assignment when we are visitors to Tourlestrane next Monday evening.
