The youngsters were in Markievicz on Tuesday evening for this final. The game was delayed as the opposition were short players and the appointed referee was delayed.

Eventually we got going and we drove forward from the off and it was no surprise when Ronan Wilson drove to the net. This was quickly followed by Dáire Barrins and Oisín Flynn both scoring. With the halftime whistle on the way the same two players scored again to lead 5 v 0.

In the second half we continued as we left off and Ruairí Gallagher, and two scores from Colm Naughton increased the lead. Our new strike force of Owen Gillard and Daniel Ruane were causing trouble and both scored before the end with Fergal Boland finding the net in the end after a pass from Liam Donnegan who was on for the injured Rian Winters. Paul Ruane came on for the second year in a row.

After the game Bart Barrins on behalf of Coiste na nÓg presented the shield to joint captains Brian Durkan and Ross Gilmartin. Brian gave a great speech and thanked all. After the game the team were treated to a meal.
