U12: Castlconnor 8 v 20 St.Pats

posted 5 May 2011, 06:45 by Bart Barrins
The team were in Skreen on Tuesday night where a strong cold breeze blew towards the Templeboy end.  Missing Paul Flynn, Thomas Howley and Niall Judge, the lineup was young but all gave a good account of themselves.

For the first two quarters we played with the wind but the dominant Pats midfield still held sway and at the halfway point we trailed 8 v 6 with some notable scores being achieved with lads kicking off their weaker foot.

In the third quarter we were whitewashed by the stronger Pats team who scored from all positions of the field. In the fourth quarter we showed better ability and teamwork and got up the field for a couple of scores.

Team: John Hallinan, Dáire Barrins, James Boland, Fergal Boland, Brian Mahoney, Micheál Cahill, Ódhrán Quinn, Danny O'Hora, Colm Naughton, Óisín Flynn, Kenneth Flynn, James Tully

POSTSCRIPT: Thankfully a St.Pats official officiated at the game as Coiste na nÓg Contae Sligigh, would not agree to sanction the fixture as it had been moved from the previous week. Thanks to St.Pats for the game and the official for his unbiased refereeing
