A beautiful evening for this fixture on Tuesday evening when we welcomed Glencar-Manorhamilton for the first time to Corballa. Colm Naughton was not able to play after getting his appendix out but the lads despite the score put in a good performance.

Glencar took the initiative right from the whistle and had the game won early on as it took our team 15mins to start to play. From that point to the end we put on a great show as well as the visitors.Rian Winters was overworked in goals but his puckouts were impressive throughout. Liam Donnegan, Ross Gilmartin, and Fergal Boland kept a tight rein on their opposite numbers whilst in the middle Ruairí Gallagher, Dáire Barrins and Ronan Wilson showed good striking from sidelines and frees along with Oisín Flynn. Owen Gillard, Brian Durkan and Daniel Ruane were onto any lose ball and made it tought for defenders.

At the halftime break we trailed 13-1. Oisin Flynn scored a 65 for us and Owen Gillard and Ronan Wilson got the other two scores. The lads showed great heart and for the first time all year each and every player on the team got the sliotar into their hands at least once and got to strike the ball regularly.

Thanks to Glencar-Manor and their management for an enjoyable evening and to the referee Malachy Maher who let the lads know what was happening at all times.
