Played in Easkey on Wednesday evening in glorious conditions this was a closer game than the scoreline suggests. Playing our first game in the full length pitch the lads took a bit of time to get accustomed to the different dimensions.

The first 10 minutes was where all the damage was done when Coolera scored 4 goals, three of which were over our keeper young keeper Ruairí Gallagher who could do nothing about it. Unfortunately we truck the side netting on our first three attacks but then we got off the mark with a goal from Paul Flynn after a pass from Stephen Tuffy. From this to the end of the half it was back and forth with Seán Carrabine scoring two great scores, one of which was from 65m out after great work by Benny Foody to trail at half time 5-6 v 1-2.

We played exceptionally well in the second half but continued to go for goals when easy points were on offer. The direct running of Micheál Cahill was causing serious problems for the Coolera defence and he struck it just over the bar which could have dipped under the bar. Seán Carrabine scored another point after Colm Naughton broke up an attack, passed to James Boland who put Seán through.

Well done to all the squad who worked hard all year and put in a great effort.
