The final game of the season for the club took place on Saturday in Corballa with our u20 in county semifinal action versus Drumcliffe.  The pitch was in excellent condition for the game.

Having to field without top scorer Stevie Curley and full back Conor Judge, both through injury put our scant resources to the limit however our squad showed great spirit and started the game with a flurry of points all from play from our excellent full forward Matthew Cullen. John
McDonnell scored from a free after Cullen was fouled. However the first attack from the visitors saw  Brian Feeney make a great save only to see the rebound finish to the net. We responded with a point from Eoin Flynn after another foul on Cullen, but we were hit with another blow when a 45m free ended up in our net after a mixup in defence, however we finished the half strongly with points from Paul Sweeney, Eoin Flynn and Matter Cullen to leave the scores at the break
0-8 v 2-1.

We kept the pressure up and scored again through Cullen after a foul on Ciarán Kilcullen. We were finding it harder to come by scores in the second half but the visitors keeper made three excellent saves to keep his team in it. We lead till the last five minutes but could not finish the job appearing to be unlucky to lose as the lads played a lovely brand of football which  leaves us lookng forward to the future.

In this case it was very hard luck on the lads as most observers viewing the game would have felt the better football played and team were very unfortunate not to win. Thanks to the team for their commitment and effort over the last few weeks and the management of Michael McDonnell, Jim Kent and Bart Barrins
