Twenty minutes into this game at Oxfield we trailed 0-6 v 0-1 and were fortunate to only be that much behind. Things looked bleak and starting without Jason Earlis, Shane Wright and Mathew Cullen the supporters were quiet.

Then we started to win some ball at midfield through the McDonnell brothers John and Kevin, Martin Foody put the dangerman Logan in his pocket for the rest of the game and it all started to change, slowly at first with points from Stevie Curley and then a goal from Kevin McDonnell after good work from Doogie Kilcullen and Eoin Flynn. At half time we were level 1-3 v 0-6.

The start of the second half saw Drumcliffe score two quick points but in the space on a minute we got 2 goals, Kevin McDonnell had a shot deflected into the net from a piledriver and from the resultant kickout, Kilcullen fetched, gave to McDonnell who put Curley through and rounded the keeper. Two quick points from Curley left us in command  but we fell asleep and the wing back came up and scored a good goal. Drumcliffe equalised with 7 to go but we went into the lead again from a free and were pegged back again. It was ding-dong at this stage but the ref blew up 3 minutes early and the scores 3-6 v 1-12.

In the first half of extra time Eoin Flynn got his second point of the game but that was it at the break with sides still level.  The Drumcliffe keeper made a mistake from a ball into his area when under no pressure but Cian Barrins was in like a shot and a penalty was given after the keeper fouled. Kevin McDonnell drove the ball to the net for his hat trick. This was followed by a Jason Earlis point and another Curley one. Drum pulled the score back but Keith Foody who scored the first point of the game for us had the final say when he broke out of defence and soloed up the field to score a point to end the match.
